Paradigm

Over 3,000 chemical enterprises are operating on the territory of Russia, most of them being dominant in urban development. The chemical industry is a leader by the share it contributes to the gross national product of Russia. Besides, the industry plays a key role in the national security. Despite all this, the legislative base of the work of chemical enterprises is very underdeveloped and the current customs policy, as it relates to chemical enterprises, does not adequately take into account either the interests of the importers, nor the needs of the domestic manufacturers.

The Summit will be held in the period, when the domestic chemistry goes through difficulties: the enterprises are dissociated, the interests of their management are not generalized. An effective force is urgently needed that could represent the entire industry and influence the decisions that are important for the whole chemical and petrochemical complex of the nation.

The main task that the First International Chemical Summit in Moscow sets before its participants is to find mechanisms for a systematic solution of economic and political problems of the industry in the interests of all chemical market players.

The Summit has been initiated by the Russian Chemists Union and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs with the support of the Government of Moscow, the Ministry of Industry and Energy, the RF State Duma Committee on Industry, Construction and Science Intensive Technologies.

The Summit will be attended by over 300 persons, including the chief executives of the largest Russian chemical, oil refining, and petrochemical companies, the heads of major foreign chemical groups represented in the Russian market, the representatives of federal authorities.

The participants of the Summit are going to use this representative assembly as a tool to establish strong working relations with each other and to develop a coordinated economic strategy of industry development.

The forum will go on for three days. During this period, its participants will discuss a wide range of strategic questions. In particular, new tasks will be identified in view of the latest changes in the federal regulatory bodies; issues of legal support of the industry will be discussed alongside with problems of feedstock supply, integration of the Russian chemistry into the world economy, new innovations and investment projects in the Russian Federation.
