About Summit

General Information

The Moscow International Chemical Summit, the most established industry conference in Russia, is organised by:

Moscow City Government,

Russian Chemists Union,

Russian Academy of Sciences,

Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs,

Russian Petrochemical and Refining Association,

The operator of the event is the RCC Group consulting and publishing company.

Every year the International Chemical Summit is attended by over 300 leaders from the Russian chemical sector and allied industries. Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov is the honorary chairman of the summit’s organising committee. Tatarstan’s leader Rustam Minnikhanov is a member of the committee. The forum provides invaluable networking, information-sharing and business development opportunities for its Russian and foreign participants.

This year’s summit will focus on energy savings and efficiency of Russian facilities. Delegates will share their knowledge on cost savings and recovery prospects amid the global economic crisis. They will also discuss the Russian authorities’ plans to promote downstream projects in the industry.

Role of chemical industry

The chemical and petrochemical industry accounts for some 10% of the Russian gross national product. More advanced feedstock conversion is the main factor behind the transition to a knowledge-intensive economy. Growth in output in the chemical and petrochemical industry has a synergetic effect on the consumer markets.
